After watching this wonderful speech, I got a little understanding of the development process of IXD, which also made me realize that people still need to see and learn more. Bill Verplank has been doing work on interaction design in the past few decades. It can be said that he is one of the founders of the emerging field of interaction design. I have always felt that interaction design is a very complicated and difficult field, but Bill Verplank has clearly solved my confusion in the form of his unique sketchnote.
Interaction design mainly revolves around three questions—How do you do? How do you feel? How do you know? That is triggering, information presentation and feedback. However, this whole process is interactive, cyclical and user-centered like industrial design, to be developed. This is a planned system, the goal is to analyze from the two aspects of ‘availability’ and ‘user friendly’, focusing on the needs of users.
Art is related to objects and purposes. Although interaction design is a design of behavior, it also needs objects, but it only regards objects as a medium to achieve behavior, and ultimately will be transformed into useful information. While understanding the development process of interactive design, I also discovered the secret of clever use of sketchnote. Using traditional notes and some key illustrations can really make people clear at a glance! The following is a summary of what Bill Verplank said, and can also be used as a small exercise for sketchnote.
